Another one that I'd like to give Nick to try :) The flavours sound fantastic and we always have pork fillet in the freezer. Nick is the opposite of GOon though - he tends to want to add too many flavours to a dish - gilding the lily springs to mind!!

Hi Trig. He's certainly come a long way from the man I met almost two years ago who lived off plain boiled noodles and tuna-rice. I don't think he could go back to that diet now. I tried letting him adjust flavours completely by himself during his last attempt at cooking. He managed, but a bit too late as we'd already served up by then. But things are definitely improving.

Ros, you should do what I always do and just have a pot of yogurt for dessert. Even after an enornous meal there's always room for a yogurt. Plus it's great for digestion. If you keep letting Goon cook, and insist he tastes everything to correct the flavours before dishing up, in a few months his palate will have evolved beyond recognition! There's such a sense of satisfaction when you know you can immediately indentify an imbalance of flavours, especially if you have the know-how to correct them. Keep up the good cooking, Goon!

Hi Ginger, I think you made Goon's day with that comment. I don't know why he insisted that I publish that chav's comment about his last attempt, but I think it annoyed him quite a bit.

Hi Schmoof, I suppose you making the main course and your boyfriend making dessert wouldn't be all bad. We generally don't have dessert because I'm such a meat and carb addict. There's no room for it by the time I've finished my main!

This looks really good, well done Goon :)

We're on a carb light plan this week and we've got a piece of pork fillet in the freezer so I think this could be appearing on our menu on Wednesday!
