Oh dear! I hate tecchie problems more than anything. Astonishingly, we’ve been with BT both as dial-up and later as broadband customers for years and have never had a single problem. Of course, now having said that I’ve jinxed it and it will all go pear-shaped! Love the 4-bean chilli - I think I might try a version of it tonight.

Mike, I’m jealous! It’s frustrating to have lots of nice stuff to write about but not have access to the blog but hopefully I’ll be making up for it soon.

Jodsgirl, I hope you enjoy the chilli. It was a good ready meal to have after staying late at work.

Lauren, I’m afraid there were mice . I think I’ve got rid of them now but there’s obviously loads living in the the building in general as a new one appears every time I make cheese on toast. They aren’t clever mice- I catch them quickly.

Ginger, I’ll e-mail you about Hammersmith restaurants. There’s plenty to recommend, especilly if you’re able to go up towards the Goldhawk road and/or Chiswick.

Helen, it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one! We’ll see what happens in a couple of weeks.

I did wonder what had happened to you! Don’t even get me started on BT. if you search on the internet, you may find posts by me on every forum possibel slating them and their shoddy outfit, among the comments of millions of others. Mine took over two months as well. When I tried to cancel, I was on the phone for 5 hours with the receiver resting on my shoulder and I eventually had to give up as I wanted to go home. They are very quick to answer when you want to sign up, but then you are stuffed after that. They messed up my cancellation so I not only couldn’t have the internet with them, but I coulsn’t get it with anyone else either. Annoyed, moi?!

On a more positive note, I’m glad to see you back and to ehar your news about the living and job arrangements. Also good to see you are eating well!

Sounds like you’re having a nightmare, hope you get it sorted soon.

I’d be interested to hear about the restaurants you like in Hammersmith, I work there and am always on the hunt for new places.

Oh dear. It’s really not going to make you feel any better to learn that my BT broadband was ready and switched on the day I moved into my Yorkshire village, is it? Of course you get much more bandwidth, but then if you don’t actually receive it…
